Letting Go

"The leaves are dying," said Tiny Dragon.

"Don't be sad," said Big Panda.

"Autumn is nature's way of showing us how beautiful letting go can be."

Like freeing birds from cages, loosening our Grip on our children so that they can learn to fly. We hear this often, " Loosening my grip on my children? Yes. Learner-led? Yes, I like the sound of that. Letting go of control? Ummm.. say what?

In theory it makes sense but in practice, it’s harder than it sounds.

To ROA parents on this journey, we just want to say that you are not alone.  We are all coming in with different children who change constantly depending on their stage of development with different needs, our family dynamics are all so different, and we all have different perspectives, but the path we’re traveling on is quite similar.  We all have some hesitation and doubt from time to time. That's normal. You wouldn't be human if you didn't question things from time to time.   You may question the process and wonder if this path will lead where you think it will.  We value freedom of learning, we want our children to grow as kind and loving humans, not just to pass tests, and you're willing to be in uncomfortable situations for your own growth and that of your children. We feel you and know what you're feeling. We feel it too. We are thankful to have you on this journey.

You are an amazing community to be a part of.

On this day and everyday, We are thankful for our community. Together, we can do hard things. We can let go.
